WEBINAR RECORDING | Exploring our collective knowledge on citizen evidence

If you are interested in this topic read more in the blog post, or review the webinar presentation.

The Africa Evidence Network hosted its fifth session of the Evidence 2023 capacities webinar series on 29 November 2023 entitled: "Exploring our collective knowledge on citizen evidence."

We had the pleasure of hosting our seasoned speakers who shared perspectives of what different practitioners are learning about citizen evidence within their respective ecosystems, and how differently actors will need to position themselves in advancing their uptake.

The speakers shared on:

  • The current state of producing, intermediating and use of citizen evidence within their immediate ecosystem.
  • The current state of play for citizen evidence.
  • Identifying strong actors promoting the state of citizen evidence within respective ecosystems.
  • Targeted outcomes for the production, intermediation, and use of citizen evidence.
  • The presence of particular infrastructure or information systems deployed in support of producing, intermediating or using citizen evidence.
  • Challenges experienced while promoting advocating for improved use of citizen evidence.
  • What can we further do differently considering the observed challenges and constraints (recommendations).
  • What this means for the AEN Manifesto on capacity development for EIDM in Africa, revising it, and keeping it useful for our EIDM work.

The session was moderated by Deo-Gracias Houndolo of 3ie, Benin and it was chaired by Siziwe Ngcwabe, the Director and co-chair of the Africa Evidence Network.

If you have any questions, reach out to us on info@africaevidencenetwork.org.
