Experiences around the ‘Art’ and ‘Science’ of evidence-use: Stories from Africa

Please join us for our 9th #AfricaEvidenceWebinar entitled: Experiences around the ‘Art’ and ‘Science’ of evidence-use: Stories from Africa. As the AEN, we'll be welcoming speakers from different sectors and spaces within the Africa evidence ecosystem. These speakers will share their stories of evidence-use.

  • Mr Kiruben Naicker, Department for Environment, Forestry and Fisheries (South Africa)
  • Ms Moitshepi Matsheng, Young1ove (Botswana)
  • Prof Kenneth Yongabi, Imo State University (Nigeria)

As participants in this webinar, you will hear three stories of innovative evidence-use in Africa. You will be part of the discussion to distinguish elements of these strategies that speak to the ‘art’ as well as the ‘science’ of doing EIDM in these stories. Your contributions will help to uncover innovations and tools used to support evidence-use in decision-making. The conversation will be facilitated by Ms Jennifer Opare-Kumi, a PhD student at Oxford University. Ms Siziwe Ngcwabe  - the AEN operations senior manager - will act as the session chair.

Join us at 14:00 SAST 26 August in the lead up to EVIDENCE 2020 ONLINE. We look forward to seeing how your perspectives will shape our understanding of evidence-use in Africa.
