Africa Evidence Week 2021 event: Highlighting the Use of Evidence and Data to Inform Public Policy Changes in Kenya

*All times listed are in GMT

Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is partnering with Kenya’s Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) to generate rigorous evidence on the impact of various interventions on youth employment and earning opportunities. Additionally, IPA is working with MSEA to develop its Gender Management Information System which will allow monitoring of gender mainstreaming within the Authority. IPA will moderate a webinar with MSEA and its policy collaborators on how this data and evidence is informing their policy making processes.

This webinar will share discussion on;

  • How do evidence and data factor into MSEA’s decision making? What are some challenges?
  • How does the SDG work with other government departments to collect and analyse data regarding gender mainstreaming?
  • What is SDG’s long-term vision for a gender information monitoring system?
  • How can NGEC use evidence and data in its oversight roles for other institutions with gender mainstreaming mandates?
