The Africa Evidence Network (AEN) is engaging with local networks including the Policy Action Network (PAN) Children within the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) in South Africa, the Zimbabwe Evidence Informed Policy Network (ZeipNET) in Zimbabwe, and the Centre for Social Research in Malawi in 2016 through roadshows to strengthen evidence-informed decision-making in Southern Africa.
AEN and ZeipNET roadshow, 5 February 2016
On 5 February 2016, the AEN co-hosted its first roadshow in Zimbabwe with ZeipNET. The roadshow was held in Harare at the Crowne Plaza Monomatapa Hotel in Zimbabwe. ZeipNET organised a panel discussion which focused on the national evidence infrastructure in Zimbabwe which seeks to strengthen the institutional landscape to support evidence-informed policy-making.
AEN and PAN Children roadshow, 4 March 2016
On 4 March 2016, the AEN hosted its second roadshow in South Africa with PAN Children within the HSRC. The roadshow was held in Cape Town at the HSRC and broadcasted live to the HSRC offices in Pretoria and Durban. The roadshow focused on how to further build networks around evidence-informed decision-making.
AEN and the Centre for Social Research roadshow, 8 March 2016
On 8 March 2016, AEN hosted a roadshow in partnership with the Centre for Social Research, University of Malawi which focused on discussing the need for reliable evidence as part of policy decision making processes in Malawi. The road show was held at the Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre, Malawi.
