The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) and the Government of Benin, in collaboration with other partners, are organizing a two-day conference to present the West Africa Capacity-building and Impact Evaluation (WACIE) Program activities, and share findings from a scoping study on evaluation capacity and opportunities in the region.
The conference is a collaborative effort to highlight opportunities, examine the demand and supply of impact evaluations and connect stakeholders that operate or are interested in the region.
This is a regional initiative to promote the institutionalisation of evaluation in government systems across eight countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo. This program is a partnership between 3ie and the Government of Benin. Visit the WACIE program page to know more.
Monday 28 January 2019
We will introduce the WACIE program and its proposed activities. Authors of the scoping study will present key findings, including but not limited to evaluation capacity, and priorities for evaluation and capacity-building in each of the eight WACIE countries. Opportunities for each country will be highlighted, along with the next steps for engagement for the program.
Tuesday 29 January 2019
We will provide an overview of activities in the region and other initiatives led by local governments, multilateral partners and NGOs. The conference will provide an opportunity for engagement and exchange with a number of actors who are active in West Africa.
