The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) seeks to appoint a Policy Action Network (PAN) Manager for its Research Use and Impact Assessment (RIA) unit.
RIA’s vision is to contribute to a prosperous, healthy and just society that uses research evidence to improve the quality of life of a people who are all well informed and actively engaged in public policy/civic matters.
The specific objectives of the unit are to:
- Provide an enabling environment to facilitate research uptake
- Build institutional capacity to enable public engagement and research communication
- Improve on knowledge management which is needed to ensure regular reflection and learning from both successes and failures in research programmes
- Implement monitoring and evaluation processes to learn about the performance of the HSRC’s communications activities and identify what works, what doesn’t and the reasons why.
RIA consists of the following sections: Science Communication, Impact Assessment, HSRC Press, and Corporate Communications & Stakeholder Relations. As part of developing the required capacity to achieve its mission, RIA wishes to appoint a suitable candidate for this position.
