Call for contributions to the knowledge translation inventory by Health Systems Global

The Social Science Approaches for Research and Engagement in Health Policy & Systems (SHAPES) and Translating Evidence into Action (TWG), both Thematic Working Groups of Health Systems Global (HSG), have developed a baseline inventory of global initiative for knowledge translation. This inventory will serve as a “hub” to collect and share knowledge translation materials among the TWGs and beyond.

The inventory identifies: what each evidence translation initiative is, why it was set up, what its focus is, what its scope is, if it was an initiative set up with a specific purpose, or rather institution that was set up to work on evidence translation, etc. We have 70 initiatives identified so far, with representation from over 45 countries that span all regions of the world!

Countries covered so far:

In Africa: Zambia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Cameroon, Uganda, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria.

Organisations: REACH, SURE and AFIDEP.

Missing cases: North Africa, West Africa (west of Burkina Faso, south of Cameroon), and from countries like Tanzania, South Africa, Ghana, etc. know that such efforts are underway, but possess no documentation.

Remaining needs:

- Identification of more contacts from DEVELOPING COUNTRY CONTEXTS that are using evidence to action.

- Identification of more NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING country knowledge translation initiatives

Submit contributions:

If you are aware of such initiatives, please contact Devaki Namibar (devaki.nambiar@phfi.org) and Preety Rajbangshi (preety.rajbangshi@phfi.org).
